This oracion (prayer) is recited when one visit’s a Morada or chapel.  This prayer, known also as La Entrada, invokes the person to dedicate himself, and the dwelling, to The Holy Family. The first 3 lines are often recited at mass in New Mexico.  This Oracion is considered one of the oldest in use in New Mexico and Colorado.

Quien de luz en esta casa? Jesus!
Quien la llena de alegria? Maria!
Quien le conserva la fe?  Jose!
Luego bien claro se ve
Quiero alcanzar el Perdon
Teniendo en mi Corazon
A Jesus Maria Y Jose.
Los demonios vengativos
Nos procuran perturbar
Y asi con grandes motivos
La cruz nos ha de librar
De nuestro enemigos.
Para no caer en el precipio
Me valgo del Redentor
Y en su servicio me ofresco.

Who gives light in this house?  Jesus!
Who fills it with gladness?  Mary!
Who preserves it’s faith?  Jose!
Then it is clearly seen
I want to attain forgiveness
Carrying in my heart
Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
The vengeful demons
Try to perturb us
And thus with the greatest of reasons
The cross will deliver us
From our enemies.
That I may not fall in the precipice
I avail myself of the redeemer
And to his service

I dedicate myself.
